Windows XP
  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Open the Network Connections item in Control Panel. A list of existing dial-up and LAN connections will appear.
  3. Choose the 'Create a new connection' item from the left-hand side of the window. The Windows XP New Connection Wizard will appear on the screen.
  4. First click Next to begin the wizard, then choose the 'Connect to the network at my workplace' item from the list and click Next.
  5. On the Network Connection page of the wizard, choose the 'Virtual Private Network connection' option and click Next.
  6. Enter a Speedytv for the new VPN connection in the 'Company Name' field and click Next.
  7.  On the 'Public Network' choose the 'Do not dial the initial connection' option. This option requires that the public Internet connection be established first, before this new VPN connection will be initiated.
  8. Enter the name or IP address of the Speedytv server from your welcome email and click Next Take special care to key the VPN server IP address data correctly. The Windows XP wizard does not automatically validate this server information
  9. Choose an option on the "Connection Availability" screen and click Next. The default option, 'My Use Only,' ensures that Windows will make this new connection available only to the currently logged on user. Otherwise, choose the 'Anyone's use' option.
  10. Click Finish to complete the wizard. The new VPN connection information has been saved.
  11. Start the connection and enter the username and password supplied by us in your welcome email. You have the option to tick the remember username and password box at this point

Be sure that you run Windows Update before setting up your VPN connection.
First, click on the Start button and click “Control Panels”. This opens up the “Control Panel Home.”

3. Go to the “Network and Internet” panel

Next, click on the “Network and Internet” control panel, which is circled in red below.

4. Connect To A Network

Next, click on “Connect to a network.”

5. Set up the VPN connection

The next screen may not look quite like this if you have networks already defined. In any case, click on “Set up a connection or Network.”

6. Choose the Connection Type

On the next screen, click on “Connect to a workplace” then click “Next.”

7. Select the Internet connection

Next click “Use my Internet connection (VPN).”

8. Enter the server information

Now, enter the server information.

In the text box labelled ‘Internet address’ ( highlighted in blue) type the ip address that we sent you.

In the text box labelled ‘Destination name’ (highlighted in green) type ‘UK VPN SERVER’. This is the name of the connection, and will show up in the “Connect to a network” screen when we’re done.

Lastly, make sure that the checkbox labelled “Don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later” (highlighted in yellow) is checked.

Then click the “Next” button.

9. Enter your username and password

In this screen, enter your username and password.

In the text box labelled “User name:” (highlighted in blue), enter your username.

In the text box labelled “Password:” (highlighted in yellow), enter your password.

Optionally, check the “Remember this password” checkbox (highlighted in green) and you won’t have to enter your password when you connect to your VPN.

Then, click the ”Create” button.

10. Connection Ready

You should see this screen next. Click the “Close” button to return to the “Network and Internet” screen.

11. Go to the connection

Now click on “Connect to a network” again.

12. Then click on the UK VPN SERVER entry and click “Connect”.

2. Open the Internet Connect program from the Applications window
3. On the menu bar select File - New VPN Connection
4. Click PPTP and then Continue
5. Enter IP address of our VPN server that we provide to you for the Server address and your VPN username and password, tick the Show VPN status in menu bar box
6. To connect to the VPN server click the Internet Connect icon in the menu bar and select Connect
7. While you are connected you will see the duration next to the Internet Connect icon in the menu bar
8. To disconnect, click on the Internet Connect icon in the menu bar and select Disconnect
